D&D Management began with a friendship and a shared belief that hard work, competition, and service could build something lasting.

Darin and Danny met in Texas while serving a mission and quickly bonded over their love of sports, their drive to perform, and their desire to make a difference in people’s lives. Later, while earning degrees in accounting and finance, they realized their future wasn’t in cubicles at big firms or on Wall Street. They weren’t tech guys, but they knew how to sell and they knew how to work. So they decided to “buy themselves a job” and see if they could build a business together.

In their senior year, they scraped together everything they had to open their first Jimmy John’s in Midvale, Utah. It was a location where other restaurants had repeatedly failed. With just enough left over to pay themselves $18,000 each that first year, they threw themselves into the work, showing up every day from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. to learn the business from the ground up. They ran out of bread, worked through painfully slow $200 nights, and made more than a few hiring mistakes. However through grit, determination, and a little luck, the store’s sales soon grew above the national average.

Thirteen months later, they opened a second store, one they had set their sights on months earlier, even knocking on the door of the existing business to build a relationship until the owner eventually sold to them. They closed down the existing business and with only 1200 sq feet and 6 parking places built one of the highest volume stores in the country at the time. With two successful stores, growth became the priority and Danny and Darin doubled down on what would become their cornerstone: developing a great team.

Over the years, D&D has grown from a single restaurant into a multi-faceted enterprise with:

· 35+ Jimmy John’s locations

· Starbird Chicken franchises

· Investments in Viva Chicken, Outdoor Elements, and Cox Climate Control

· A diverse real estate portfolio

What hasn’t changed is the belief that food has the power to bring people together: teams, families, and communities.
